Because it's been bothering me, I'm trying to organize all the events of episodes 26, 23, 24, and the movie in order.
I've got my starting point: the scene where the junior trio is playing Ping Pong in the movie takes place alongside the first half of episode 23, between the intro and the end of the scene with Nodoka in the Student Council Room. The very next scene where Yui's working on "Touched By An Angel!" in her room takes place right after 23, once she's home from listening to the recording HTT did.
I'll update this when I've got a working timeline, or at least a rough one.
All done, but I need to sleep so I'll get a postable version done in a few hours.
The only part of the movie that doesn't fit in perfectly is the performance of "Touched By An Angel!" obviously, and it's the only part that appears in both, from when Azusa opens to door until she tells them they're not that good. And the original version of that performance is simply better and more elaborate, so I don't even need the movie verison.
Once you guys see it and double check I did it right, I'll put it all together as videos :D
Okay, so most of the movie takes place after episode 22. That part ends at the end of the writing scenes right after the performance for the last day seniors have classes. Specifically, Yui assures the group she didn't even tell Ui about the song they're writing, and does a peace sign. Stop there.
Then comes Episode 26.
Episode 23, until the end of the scene with Nodoka in the Student Council room, talking about her picture.
Then the Ping Pong scene from the movie.
Then the rest of Ep23.
Then (movie) Yui playing Azusa's song in her room, and pretending to sleep when Ui comes in, along with Ui texting Azusa to tell her not to worry, ending at the fade to black as she's sitting on the couch.
Episode 24, until Ritsu sends her text to Yui in the intro.
Movie scene where Yui gets that text while playing Gita on her bed and jumps off.
Ep24, Ritsu gets the reply, until she tries calling her.
Movie scene of Yui running.
Ep24, Ritsu says Yui's not answering, until the intro movie.
Movie scene of group running.
Ep24 intro movie, until Sawako says she'll never be able to erase the messages on the chalkboard.
Movie scene of Yui climbing the stairs to the club room with her diploma, until Sawako is looking at her card.
Ep24 start at the closeup of the teacups, until the end of the episode.
Movie scene starting at the fade to black after Azusa tells them their not very good (only seen, not heard), until the end of the movie.
Well, it's just that they'll likely get taken down there. I don't have any experience with other video sites, so I don't know if they'll stay up on them.
Are your videos mashups to create an order of the events? Just say in the Description "All copyright goes to the respective owners." And a normal description
Worth a shot I guess. I apologize in advance for the video quality, I don't have the DVDs (yet), so I made them from online versions, then my movie making program seems to have lowered the quality by a bit more :(
I also only have time to upload one before work, so I'll get 24 uploaded later.
I figured as much, whoever deals with K-On stuff is very strict about Youtube. All the well known songs from the the show are almost always gone or muted too. I'm trying some other video sites now.
Could you take a bit of time and try to find all Death Devil songs, I want to take them off the big Music Template and add them to the Death Devil template.
You would know better than I, do these two short guitar-only versions of Fluffy Time and Rice As A Side Dish play in the show? I was thinking of the first episode of season 2, but I checked and that was My Love Is A Stapler (and I don't think it was released). Tracks 12 & 13 here.
Hmmm, difficult. I don't really have the two songs you've mentioned in mind, maybe if you describe them a bit more. Are they the instrumental version? otherwise, there are also instrumental versions with the focus on one particular instrument (in fact guitar version, drums version, bass version and keyboard version), but those are exclusive to the albums where they were released and did not appear in the anime itself.
Aaah, wait, I think I found the ones you mean, they are called "Fuwa Fuwa Time (Guitar Azusa no Yume Ver.)" and "Gohan wa Okazu (Guitar Azusa no Yume Ver.)", right? I am not sure if the latter appears althought it sounds very familiar, but the first one (Fuwafuwa Time) does appear in the series, namely when Azusa is dreaming about Yui eating that watermelon with that other food that does not mix good (or something like that) in episode 13! ;)
Sorry, yes, those are the two I meant. Well, that certainly explains the title, I'm rewatching the series, so if I come across that version of Gohan wa Okazu, I'll post where it is here.
And to hijack this for a moment, as we're talking about lost songs: Did you every figure out if/where the song After School Tea Time plays? The one at the end of the second season album? These are the only three tracks (now two) I can't place.
That is also just a bonus, it never actually appeared in the series. Same goes for "Ichigo Parfait ga Tomaranai", "Honey Sweet Tea Time", "Tokimeki Sugar" and "Fuyu no Hi". Funny note: "Curry Nochi Rice" was released in the first season but made it's first appearance during the second and "Samidare 20 Love" was released in the second season and first appeared in the movie! ;)
Well, if you want to get technical, "Ichigo Parfait ga Tomaranai" appears on their setlist near the beginning of season 2, even though none of it is ever heard being played, and the rough/early versions of "Honey Sweet Tea Time", "Tokimeki Sugar", and "Fuyu no Hi" all appear as a demo song, poem, and written lyrics respectively. "Curry Nochi Rice" actually does appear in season 1, first on the setlist, and then you can hear the end of it when Azusa shows up to watch. "Samidare 20 Love" appears on the list of songs they record in 23, but isn't heard until the movie.
Those are all interesting because they all exist in the show's universe, even though we don't get to hear much, or any of them ("Ichigo Parfait ga Tomaranai" appearing the least, only as a title).
Actually, the cassette recording/second disc to season 2 has all of the in-universe songs, with the exception of " Tenshi ni Furetayo!", for obvious reasons. That means 13 songs exist in the universe.
So as it's not on the cassette recording, I don't think "After School Tea Time" is supposed to exist in-universe, so it's probably like the intro/outro songs' B-sides, right?
Okay, that's what I figured, but wanted to make sure, as I needed to figure out where it should go in my playlist. One last thing about it: do you know if there's a translation of the lyrics around somewhere? AnimeLyrics doesn't have one for it. I get the feeling it's a song about themselves, sung in an almost-4th-wall-breaking way. :P
I found a decent way to do it, go back to that site and click the "View Kanji" button, then copy-paste into Google Translate (It will translate kanji, but not Japanese in western letters). It's not great, as expected, but you can certainly get the intention of what's being said, which is the important thing.
okay, but that won't be enough to put under a "English Translation" category when the page for the song will be created. I only trust lyrics translations if they come from human beings and not from computers. :D
I'm making the categories "Music" and "Songs" Master Categories, or categories that hold subcategories. THis simply means do not add these to pages, but instead add one category that corresponds to it, like an Instrumental Image Song would have the category "Instrumental Image Songs" while and instrumental off of a normal album would have "Instrumental Songs" and these categories would have "Songs" as a category.
okay, but why can only songs like NO, Thank You! have the two categories? and why did you remove the "album" category from the Image Song Series albums? do you plan to create an own category like "Character Image Song Series Albums"?
No, "Series" implies it is a part of something already. Sure it is an album, but it is a part of that "series". And I may make a new category, but I'm not sure. Also, scratch that idea, I honestly think it's easier to have one category for each song and then have the "Songs" master category as a master category.
I think what you changed those names to is wrong. I mean, "Song series" Implies there is more than one song on the Volume. "Songs series" kind of sounds grammatically incorrect.
Here it is. It is still a Work In Progress, and as more pages are made the more I will add to it. Add this to pages that are the songs included in the Volumes and anything related. This make sit easier than having one huge Music template.
Also, I can guess you know songs sung by the different people only need one Instumental page. Like Let's Go! Can have each different version of characters, but only one instumental because it'd be all the same, right?
Could you make a disambiguation page for Let's Go! It'd be less cluttered then "For this character's version blah blah". We coul use it and say "For other versions of the song see"
I find it funny how I went from normal editor to template creator and image licenser/namer over my time on this wiki and the Call of Duty Wiki. #Random
Well, you know, I don't have a strict schedule to edit here, mostly I do it when I have the time AND when I am in he mood for it. The next two weeks, I will have morning shifts, so I will probably be too tired when I come home and I will most likely go to bed earlier than usual too.
You once asked me about the timezone I live in. It would be nice to know yours too. maybe we are just thousands of kilometres away from each other and that is why one maybe edits at an odd time for the other due to the time differences.
Well, thank you, but there is absolutely no reason to feel like a noob, it's not like you don't do anything for this wiki. :)
And these good images are here now since I have both seasons and the movie in full HD, but it is really not difficult to get them, unless you disagree with such things as µtorrent....it's a personal opinion, but if I would have bought all episodes by myself, I would be more than bancrupt now, as unfortunate as that is......:(
Actually I've been doing that, this is going to be a side project that is extremely long. We have to go through images and put {{Fairuse}} in. I'd rather you focus on what you were planning than get distrated by this, though.
Ah, I see. Okay, would be the best if you keep going on with that while I fix the last parts of the K-ON! (Anime) page (I start with the DVD/BD section now)
...uhm, timezone is UTC+1. and I don't have a strict schedule on most days, I just don't have much time these days since I am writing university exams in two weeks. I would say I am most likely online in the evening, but I can't say that for sure.
I will look for it! I was also thinking we should give the band an own page. And some pages for the other clubs at the school (like the occult club or the student council) would be nice. Anyway, I will look for the third member.
