K-ON! After School Live!! is a PSP rhythm game. Released by Sega on September 30th, 2010. In it, players can play as all five of the girls. Ui Hirasawa, Sawako Yamanaka, and Nodoka make appearances in images, cutscenes, and other small spots.

Menu screenEdit

After continuing, or starting a new game. The characters walk around on a idle screen that you can interact with. Giving them items, or placing items on the screen by pressing △ (triangle). By doing this you unlock Events and upon unlocking locations and phone options. You can change scenery or add/remove characters. On the left side of the screen is a circular menu to choose from.

Here are the list of the options:

えんそう (Play)- To begin the game with selected songs and character.

とけい (Clock)- To show the current time in the PSP. Players are able to change character in this section and the selected character will call out the time shown in the screen.

うたおう (Making MV)- Players are able to make their own MV (motion video) with their own style with selected options.

つうしん (Multi player)- Enables multiplayer feature.

たいとる (Back to menu)- Enable the player to return to the front screen of the game.

せってい (Setting)- Enables the player to do setting based on their preference.

せーぶ (Save)- Enable player to save the current game.

あるばむ (Preview item)- Enable the player to see the items which are unlocked and locked. There are 5 different options inside:

1. Collection- Enables player to see unlocked collection, such as accessory, voice, sound, etc.
2. Event- Enable player to see a preview of the unlocked event.
3. Graphic- Enable player to see pictures that are shown in several character image song that are available in the song list.
4. Sound- Enable the player to see and play the minus one songs and also some other event songs.
5. Voice- Enables the player to select and play the voice given out by the selected player. (Usually this will appear either before the songs (game) starts or after the song ends.)

かえ (Dress Up)- Enables player to play as Ms. Sawako who will be able to change the clothes of selected characters.

Playing the gameEdit

The songs have two difficulty modes. Normal, and hard. you are judged by how well you play and the lack of mistakes you make. Much like any other rhythm or music game, Each girl has a different way to play or focus on certain buttons. Yui works with mostly O's, while Azusa has X and □ (square), Mio has the arrow keys, Mugi plays a lot like Azusa but with □ (square) and △ (triangle) and holding in the buttons, Ritsu has the down arrow keys, and X's. To play the game you must hit the right button when the music note goes over it. Chains are formed until you either miss, or are late on hitting the button. You can use help items as well.

Help itemsEdit

K-ON! After school live! comes with many help items. Only to be used once in a song, But if you don't use it, the number of said item won't deplete. After you finish a song, you gain a help item. And if you play really well with a character, they may give you some as a present.

• Chocolate: Combo's wont break if you get a Bad.
• Popsicle: Tension won't lower.
• Taiyaki: Decreases the number of notes in a section
• Cake: Raises notes for a section
• Cookie: The higher your combo, the more points earned.
• Tart: SP will appear, effects whole song
• Cheap Sweets: A Section will be played automatically. But you will only earn "Goods"
• Strawberry Milk: A section of the song turns into random notes

EventsEdit

Throughout the game, events can be unlocked when you meet the following criteria: Having the right characters, giving them the item needed, being in the right place.

There are 37 events in total. Some other events are automatically shown however at certain points in the game, bringing a total of 40-50 something in total.

Besides events, many unlockables are present in the game. Including interior and other random items, dress up outfits and accessories, titles, voices, and image galleries. Below is a list of the items.

After some time, a Costume Trunk is added. In this, outfits are stored. By Meeting certain Criteria you will unlock the items. While you can only use one hair and costume at a time, you can put up to four accessories on.
